Common questions

Does Skjald upload my meetings?
Not by default. Recording, transcription and the write-up run on your device. Only if you have the Skjald Cloud plan and choose Cloud for a meeting is that meeting's audio uploaded to be processed; it is deleted from the service when transcription ends. See the privacy policy.

Why doesn't it record the other people on my Zoom call?
On iPhone and iPad, Skjald records through the microphone only. It captures you and the room, but not another app's audio. Put the call on speaker, or use Skjald on a Mac, which can record call audio.

The first launch is slow.
Skjald downloads its speech and language models once, so it needs internet the first time. After that it works offline.

My calendar events don't show.
Check Settings › Meetings, and that Calendars is allowed in system Settings. Subscribed calendars, birthdays, all-day, cancelled and declined events are skipped by default.

How do I delete everything?
Settings › Privacy › Delete everything.

A recording stopped when I switched apps.
Calls, Siri and other apps that take the microphone interrupt recording. Skjald saves what it has and tells you; start a new recording to continue.
