Release log
What changed in each version of Skjald for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Newest first.
0.5.1 (build 20261020), 12 October 2026
A design-partner build, distributed through TestFlight. It follows build 20261019.
New
- Skjald Cloud only no longer loses a take. If you chose Skjald Cloud only and a recording cannot be written up yet because you are offline, have no plan, have used your hours, or the service had a problem, the recording stays on your phone and is sent again by itself. Home and the processing screen say why it is waiting, and offer to download the models and write it up on your phone instead.
Fixed
- Model downloads resume after you close and reopen the app. Before, a download that was stopped started again from zero once the app was reopened.
- A download whose link has expired starts over cleanly instead of stopping with "The server answered 403".
Good to know
- Everything in build 20261019 is in this build too.
- Syncing meetings between devices is still not available.
0.5.1 (build 20261019), 12 October 2026
A design-partner build, distributed through TestFlight. It is not on the App Store yet.
New
- Start without waiting. Onboarding is three screens: one "Get started" button, a choice between doing the work on this phone or in Skjald Cloud only, and the microphone. The speech model downloads in the background, and you can record before it finishes. A take recorded before the model is ready is written up when the model arrives.
- Skjald Cloud in one sheet. Sign in with Apple and subscribe in a single step. Choose where write-ups happen: on this phone, ask each time, Skjald Cloud, or Skjald Cloud only. Cloud needs a paid plan and has no free trial. You can delete your Skjald Cloud account in the app.
- Home shows more. Each meeting has a line with its length, where it was written up (on device or in Cloud) and its state. Meetings about to start show a Join link. While you record, Home shows a dock with the time, pause and stop. Import is a labelled button.
- To-dos are kept properly. Ticks you make on the Outcome tab are stored with the meeting and stay on the right item. Copy and export show them. The tab shows how many are done.
- Send, Ask and Search. Send opens as a sheet, and a send to a webhook waits five seconds so you can undo it. Ask shows the line each answer came from and offers a few starter questions. Search can filter by tag and by this week or this month, and marks the matching words.
- Models and storage. The Models page shows what is on your phone, how much space it uses, a Wi-Fi only switch, and a recommended model for your device. Downloads resume, and wait for Wi-Fi when they are large.
- Larger text. Text follows your text size setting across the app. The recording timer stays fixed.
- Apple Watch. Hold the Stop button to stop. A new Pause button pauses and resumes a recording. Text follows your watch text size.
- iPad. Settings has the same rows as the phone, and the sidebar folds away when the window is narrow.
Fixed
- Transcribing a meeting again no longer deletes your corrections. Before, doing it removed the lines you had corrected, the speakers you had named on lines, and the links from saved quotes. Corrections are now kept where the new text matches, and are set aside, not deleted, where it does not.
- A cancelled consent screen says what it deletes, and the region is a button at the top.
- The recording screen and the processing screen say where the work happens.
Good to know
- Skjald Cloud sign-in and purchase have been tested against Apple's test store only. Tell us if anything looks wrong.
- Syncing meetings between devices is not available yet. Nothing in this build uploads your meetings unless you choose Skjald Cloud.
- This build includes the Danish speech model for design partners. It is not for public distribution.
